To my grandmother, may her memory always be a pearl earring

For as many stars line the skies,
There shall you be, my mothers,
My grandmothers, my great-grandmothers.
There shall you be,
A star for every wandering Jew
And each of their daughters too.
Would it not be easier to close your eyes,
Than to dim the light of a thousands stars, a million miles from your shores?
There we shine, there we shall always shine.
